Peggy Wauters

°1968

Visual artist Peggy Wauters explains that she can paint things faster than she can say. For her, painting is a language that she can speak and think. Striking in her works is the serene way in which she demonstrates the soft cruelty of daily life, always with a humorous approach. Her paintings consist of all sizes, so she dares to go very small, but also very large. In terms of content and form, it goes wide: from simple family snapshots and desolate landscapes to disrupted dreams and downright nightmarish fantasies. Her oeuvre indicates a hard-lit reality and surrealism.
